Gundu Vellam also known as Organic Cane Jaggery made via ancient techniques by crushing sugar cane and boiling the juice to more than 200 degree celsius in large, shallow, round bottom vessels. It is prepared without any chemical adulterants hence it will be dark in colour.
Cane Jaggery is mainly used to prepare sakkarai pongal and for general home use. Gundu Vellam comprises of up to 50% sucrose, up to 20% invert sugars, and up to 20% moisture and traces of mineral salts, iron and some fiber.
Cane Jaggery is prepared with old traditional crushing machines without any big machineries involved.It is prepared and packed directly from farmers and hence cuts any middleman intervention or adulteration.

Quality is excellent. Hence came back for repeat order. Suggestion is lower quantity should be allowed to be purchased. I.e minimum 1 kg or thereabout. This time due to mishandling by courier package received in severely damaged condition, as material has no double protection.
All products were very good. I am a repeat buyer of many products like rice, jaggery palm jaggery, powdered jaggery, oils, coconuts and pickles. Just a few pieces of feedback. 1. Please pack heavy rice in a thicker plastic bag or double bag it. I had ordered 10kg and the single cover ripped open while removing fro the box. 2. For a prior order I had bought groundnuts in shells. However I was disappointed since they were very dry and not fresh. The nuts inside were dry too. Please clearly state condition of groundnuts in description.
Product is very good. Only suggestion, cost of transport could be reduced.

Products are ok for the price charged, honey should be packed in bottle or better container, NOT PLASTIC...and delivery should be speed up,as for as my case, from salem to chennai it reaches 1 day and from within chennai(11 kms) he takes 2-3 days.
