Achu Vellam which is commonly known as cube jaggery is of individual cube pieces pressed in a specially designed achu. Vellam is made from sugarcane by crushing and boiling the sugarcane juice at very high temperature and the sedimented sugar is pressed to obtainal cubical shaped jaggery. It is a traditional snacks that every home has to feed their children.
