Panchagavyam Preparation and uses in Mango
Panchakaviya is the Famers friend in the Agriculture. Everyday farmers finds some thing he can able to innovate by the same way the panchakavya was first introduced by farmer when he faces some pest attacks in the farm.
Preparation of Panchakaviyam
Panchakaviyam means 5 main components are
First mix the cow dung and cow ghee in a open container and keep in shade areas for 2-3 days and then
Cow dung - 7 kg Cow ghee - 1 kg
After 3 days mix cow urine and water and keep it for 15 days with regular mixing both in morning and evening hours. After 15 days mix the following and panchagavya will be ready after 30 days. Cow milk - 3 liters Cow curd - 2 liters Tender coconut water - 3 liters Jaggery - 3 kg Well ripened poovan banana – 12 nos.
The Panchagavya natural bio solution will be ready after 30 days.
Panchakavya for Mango
Panchakavya is best natural bio manure and spray for mango crop when a farmer uses on right time from off season to flower induction.Salemmango farmers uses panchagavya for the mango farming based on guidelines from TNAU. Results better crop yield and pest controls in the farm than using chemicals in the farming with cost cut down.
Recommended dosage of panchakavya for Mango tree
Generally TNAU recommended panchagavya for mango horticulture crops as foliar spray at 30 % level (3 litre panchagavya in 100 litres of water). We can add rice kanji in addition for the sticky agent, once should all rice Kanji for fermentation atleast 3 days before usage.
Spray
When sprayed with power sprayer, sediments are to be filtered with proper filter or else it will get stuck in the tube makes the machine trouble.
Periodicity of panchakavya usage to mango crop
Always filter the bio natural panchkavya with double filter so that sediments wont disturb during usage.
Pre flowering phase
Once in 15 days, two sprays depending upon duration of crops
Flowering and pod setting stage
Once in 10 days, two sprays
Fruit/Pod maturation stage
Once during pod maturation
